Silk Flora Foundations

Discover the art of silk flower making with a full day of hands-on tuition, exploring the specialist tools, materials and techniques used to create flowers from fabric. During the workshop, you will create two finished pieces — a Hydrangea brooch and a miniature rose posy — while learning the essential techniques of silk flower making. You will work with specialist flower-making tools, learn how different fabrics respond to heat and shaping, and discover how individual petals and leaves are transformed and assembled into a finished flower. The workshop is designed for those who are new to silk flower making and would like to explore the essential techniques of the craft. By the end of the day, you will have completed two pieces of your own and developed the skills and confidence to continue into further Silk Flora workshops if you wish. Places are limited to 6 participants to allow for individual guidance throughout the day.
