GT4+ Hood Vent The Ridgeline Motorsport GT4+ Hood Vent is inspired by the functional vent geometry used on the Toyota GR Supra GT4 race car, while featuring a larger extraction area developed for more demanding track and time attack applications. Unlike conventional flat hood vents, the GT4+ Hood Vent uses a pronounced recessed outlet positioned within a localized low-pressure region identified through CFD analysis. The resulting pressure differential helps draw hot, high-pressure air from the engine bay into the external airflow above the hood. Aerodynamic Design Advantages Upstream Gurney Flap Initiates localized airflow separation ahead of the recessed outlet, helping establish a favorable pressure condition over the vent. Recessed Extraction Zone Positions the opening below the external shear layer and protects it from direct airflow stagnation. Organized External Flow Path External streamlines remain established above and downstream of the recessed outlet, creating an organized flow path that supports entrainment and carries extracted engine-bay air rearwar CFD Flow Analysis The surface-relative-velocity field shows a pronounced velocity gradient across the recessed Hood Vent opening.
