Infinite Loop by Kirk McCarthy

Artist Kirk McCarthy is drawn to the playfulness and color of mobile artist Alexander Calder, especially with regard to the use and brightness of his colors. Once Kirk realized the importance of craft and art to himself, he could see their importance to everyone, even those who don't fully realize it. This mobile, a continuous strip of niobium twisted into a 1.5 foot diameter, is designed to be an inhabitant of the room rather than just an object within it. Its multicolored surface and gentle motion invite the viewer to slow down and stay.
