1 Pair Rogers AB1-Style Passive Crossover for LS3/5A Bass Extender System and Loudspeakers Model No: WHF-CHW35ABEX-CR This passive crossover network is intended for use with the Rogers AB1 bass extender system and LS3/5A loudspeakers, following the classic AB1 circuit topology associated with designer Andy Whittle. The network is arranged to divide the programme signal at approximately 120 Hz, with the AB1 section reproducing the lower-frequency range while the LS3/5A is progressively relieved of excessive low-frequency excursion. In this way, the system extends the useful bass response without materially altering the established midrange balance and subjective character of the LS3/5A. The crossover is therefore best regarded as part of a complete electro-acoustic system rather than as an independent universal low-pass filter. Correct results depend upon the intended driver impedance, enclosure loading and LS3/5A system characteristics. Suitable for Rogers AB1 restoration, reproduction and LS3/5A bass-extension projects where preservation of the original system balance is the principal design objective.
