Gladiolus × tubergenii 'Charming Beauty' A dainty, small-flowered gladiolus in soft pink, each bloom marked with darker pink and lit by a white throat, opening from deeper pink buds. The florets are far smaller and more loosely spaced than those of the big florist gladies, giving the spike a graceful, informal charm that lives up to the name. Up to seven flowers open from the base of each spike upwards, with two or three spikes per corm, above narrow, deep-green sword-shaped leaves. Flowering in summer, 'Charming Beauty' is shorter than the tall grandiflora gladies, reaching around 70cm, which makes it a natural fit for the front or middle of a border, a cottage garden, or a container. It's one of the hardier gladioli, so in milder gardens the corms can be left in the ground under a mulch, while in colder spots they're best lifted and stored over winter. The open, nectar-rich blooms are popular with bees, and they make a lovely, long-lasting cut flower for summer arrangements. Also sold under the name 'Warmunda'. Summer flowering Soft pink florets, darker pink markings and a white throat Shorter than standard gladies, strong upright stems One of the hardier gladioli Loved by bees Great cut flower Height: around 70cm Also known as 'Warmunda'
