French Iron And Bronze Wall Mirror 1940s
French wall mirror dating from the 1940s, designed in the manner of Gilbert Poillerat. The circular mirror is set within an elegant iron and bronze frame, surmounted by a finely cast mascaron with scrolling acanthus leaf decoration. A beautifully decorative piece with the refined neoclassical styling associated with Poillerat's work. The mirror retains its original plate, which has developed some age-related foxing and light wear to the silvering, as shown in the photographs. This adds to its character and is typical of mirrors of this period. H 41cm D 33cm Mirror Plate D 23cm
