Throughout the novel, Clarissa is a character portrayed with a certain delicate feminine beauty. She is both seen and remembered, as being most alive in the gardens of her childhood home. The Clarissa socks aim to reflect both the delicacy of Clarissa's nature, but also the strong pathways of her life. The socks combine twisted stitches and organic lace motifs to capture this combination of elements and as a result are a fascinating knit. The lace patterning is intuitive once set, with the lace continuing through the toe to the end of the sock. The Clarissa socks are knitted from the cuff down and come in four sizes with both charted and written instructions included in the pattern. The Lonk fibre used for this wonderful sock yarn is from our small flock of Lonk sheep, a breed local to North Lancashire. The wool is combined with a small amount of nylon, to create the perfect fabric for socks. The yarn shows off texture, cables and lace to great effect and the fibre combination takes colour beautifully.
