Ruger M77 Zytel .223
Excellent used condition, hard to find Ruger! Ruger M77 Mark II All-Weather in .223 Remington with DuPont Zytel (“boat paddle”/skeleton) stock. The original Ruger M77 (introduced 1968) was a Mauser-inspired bolt-action hunting rifle designed by Jim Sullivan. It used a push-feed action with a claw extractor and a tang safety. The M77 Mark II (introduced ~1989–1991) was a major redesign that remained in production into the mid-2000s (later replaced by the Hawkeye). Key changes included: True controlled-round-feed action (opened bolt face + retained claw extractor + fixed blade ejector) Three-position safety (bolt can be operated on safe) Redesigned trigger and bottom metal Ruger’s own hammer-forged barrels Integral scope bases on the receiver The All-Weather variant paired stainless steel metalwork with a black DuPont Zytel synthetic stock. The distinctive early “boat paddle” (or skeletonized) stock has cutouts/ribs, textured panels, and is very light and weather-resistant. These stocks were used on standard production All-Weather rifles in the 1990s and also appeared on some limited/distributor runs (including Davidson’s specials). They are no longer made and are now sought after by collectors for their ruggedness and classic look. Ships Free to the FFL of your choice!
