The shape is the familiar DOG trucker cap, but what makes this version interesting is the fabric and finishing process. It is made from 100% cotton whipcord that has been sulfur dyed. After the cap is fully constructed, a bio-wash treatment is applied, creating natural variations in color not only across the fabric itself, but also around the seams and edges of the brim. Rather than a perfectly uniform vintage finish, each cap develops its own slightly different character. The front features the same classic embroidered logo as the regular TRUCKER CAP, while “THE H.W.DOG&CO.” is embroidered across the back. Bio-washing is a finishing process that primarily uses enzymes to treat the surface of cotton fabric. Enzymes that act on cellulose—the main component of cotton—help remove fine surface fibers, creating a softer hand and the naturally worn appearance of a garment that has already seen some use. For the BIO TRUCKER CAP, the cotton whipcord is first sulfur dyed, and the bio-wash is applied after the cap has been fully constructed. Because the treatment is applied to the finished cap rather than to the fabric before sewing, natural variations develop around areas such as the seams and edges of the brim.
