Anko Flor de Cordon Malbec 2022

Estancia Los Cardones is a high-altitude project in the up and coming region of Salta, founded by Jeff Mausbach and the renowned Argentine winemaker Alejandro Sejanovich. The Anko wines are coming from the Calchaqui Valley where extreme elevation, intense sunlight, and cold nights(thanks to the Andes) are creating fruit with remarkable aromatic intensity, all while maintaing a vibrant acidity. Flor de Cardon is 100% Malbec, fermented with native yeast, then spends 9 months in French oak (10% New). This Malbec is wonderfully expressive, offering aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and plums, followed by gentle mint and violets. On the palate the wine is plush and full of silken tannins, and a resounding mineral finish.
