Strand of faceted flattened round beads 6 mm in natural tiger's eye
A strand of about 38 cm of round, flattened, faceted tiger's eye beads. On a honey-brown base, golden bands light up and fade with the movement: this silky sheen gives each bead the look of capturing light from within. Features: Stone: natural tiger's eye Shape: round, flattened, faceted Size: about 6 to 6.5 x 6 mm Thickness: about 3.5 to 4 mm Hole: about 1 mm Thread length: about 38 cm Quantity: about 52 beads per strand Color: golden brown, honey highlights Their flat profile makes them comfortable on the wrist and lets them sit snugly against one another without bulk: a single-row bracelet, a choker necklace, or spacer beads between round beads. The hole of about 1 mm accepts a nylon thread up to 0.8 mm, a cable, or a fine elastic thread. These same beads are also available in a pack of 10 for a more occasional creation. A little gemology: tiger's eye is a quartz, silicon dioxide (SiO₂) from the trigonal system, that has replaced an older mineral, crocidolite, fiber by fiber. The quartz has retained its fibrous structure, and the iron oxides deposited between the fibers give it its golden color. Hardness 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, density about 2.65. The reference deposits are found in South Africa, in Griqualand; it is also mined in Australia, Namibia, and India. In lithotherapy: tiger's eye is associated with the solar plexus chakra. It is credited with a protective role, and is said to encourage self-confidence and decision-making. 100% natural product: the size, shape, shade, and number of beads may vary slightly from one strand to another.
