Inakustik - Exzellenz LS-Atmos Air - Speaker Cable
Air as a dielectric. Copper defined by geometry. The in-akustik LS-Atmos Air speaker cable uses Atmos AIR Technology to integrate a defined air chamber at the centre of the electrical field between conductors — reducing capacitance and dielectric losses while a Concentric Copper design locks each individual strand in a precisely defined position for consistent, controlled signal transmission. Available by the metre. Exzellenz quality. Made in Germany. Air, by Design Every material placed adjacent to a conductor in a cable becomes part of the electrical circuit. Insulation is not passive — it stores energy from the signal and releases it with a time delay, acting as an unwanted shunt filter that degrades the signal passing through. The ideal dielectric is the one that stores the least energy. That material is air. The in-akustik LS-Atmos Air speaker cable is built around this principle. Atmos AIR Technology creates optimal conditions for precise signal transmission by utilising air — an ideal dielectric — as extensively as possible between the signal conductors. At the centre of the electrical field between conductors, a defined air chamber is integrated into the cable structure. This reduces capacitance, reduces dielectric losses, and helps preserve the integrity of the audio signal from amplifier to loudspeaker. The combination of air insulation and a precisely defined conductor geometry supports transparent, detailed sound reproduction with excellent dynamics and a natural tonal balance. Atmos AIR Technology — Defined Air Chamber at the Signal Centre The laws of dielectric behaviour are straightforward: lower dielectric constant means lower energy storage means lower distortion. Air has a dielectric constant of 1.0 — the theoretical minimum. Every other insulation material is worse. PVC, PE, PTFE, foam — all absorb more energy than air, and all release it at slightly the wrong moment. Atmos AIR Technology places an air chamber directly at the centre of the electrical field between the cable's conductors — the location where the electric field is most concentrated and where the dielectric's influence on the signal is greatest. By displacing solid dielectric material from this critical zone and replacing it with air, in-akustik reduces the capacitance of the cable and the associated low-pass filter effect that conventional cables impose on the audio signal. The result is a cable that interferes less with the signal than a cable insulated entirely in a solid dielectric material — allowing the amplifier's drive signal to reach the loudspeaker's voice coil with greater fidelity. Concentric Copper — Geometry as Engineering The LS-Atmos Air's Concentric Copper conductor design addresses a different but related problem: the electrical consistency of the conductor itself. In a conventional stranded conductor, individual copper strands are twisted together in a way that means their relative positions continuously change along the cable's length. The strand in the centre of the conductor at one point may be on the outside at another. This changing geometry produces changing electrical characteristics along the cable — small variations in inductance, capacitance, and resistance that contribute to signal distortion and inconsistent transmission. The Concentric Copper design eliminates this variation. Each individual copper strand is positioned in a precisely defined location within the conductor — and maintains that position along the cable's full length. The geometry is stable. The electrical properties are therefore consistent. The result is controlled signal transmission with uniform characteristics from end to end. Exzellenz Quality — Made in Germany The LS-Atmos Air occupies in-akustik's Exzellenz quality tier — sitting above the Premium range and below the Referenz range, and representing the level at which in-akustik's proprietary AIR dielectric technology becomes available at an accessible price point. It is available by the metre for custom-length installations, with plus/minus polarity identification by colour stripes. Every in-akustik AIR high-end audio cable is elaborately handcrafted in in-akustik's own manufacturing facility in Ballrechten-Dottingen, Germany — a process that has been refined over nearly 50 years of cable engineering. Feature Cards 💨 Atmos AIR Technology — Air as the Dielectric A defined air chamber integrated at the centre of the electrical field between conductors — reducing capacitance and dielectric losses where they matter most, for more transparent and detailed signal transmission. 🔬 Concentric Copper — Stable Geometry, Consistent Transmission Each individual copper strand is locked in a precisely defined position along the full cable length — eliminating the variable geometry of conventional stranded conductors for consistent electrical properties and controlled signal transmission. 🎵 Transparent, Dynamic, Natural The combination of air insulation and defined conductor geometry supports detailed, accurate sound reproduction with excellent dynamics and natural tonal balance — designed for demanding hi-fi enthusiasts who value thoughtful engineering. 🇩🇪 Exzellenz Quality — Handmade in Germany Available by the metre for custom installations.
