Coffee of the Month

This month's coffee is Kenya Gura Peaberry, a single origin peaberry from Nyeri County in the highlands of central Kenya. It grows between 1,700 and 1,890 meters in mineral-rich volcanic soil, and about 500 smallholder producers deliver their ripe cherry to the Gura Factory, where it is fully washed and dried on raised beds. A peaberry is a single round bean that forms alone inside the cherry instead of the usual two flat halves. Roasted medium to light, this one drinks bright, juicy and fruit-forward: blackberry and kiwi open into ripe mango sweetness, followed by mint and a clean, white-wine brightness on the finish. It suits a pour-over or a drip machine at a medium grind, with water just off the boil. Let the fruit lead. Read the full story of this coffee. About Coffee of the Month Every month we choose one single-origin coffee, roast it in small batches, and send it to you at the size and grind you picked when you signed up. You never have to choose again, and you never drink the same thing twice. Next month it is a different country, a different farm and a different cup. Pick your size and grind once. They stay the same every month. Buy a single bag, or commit to 3, 6 or 12 months for a lower price and free gear. You are billed monthly, never up front. After your commitment it continues at the same price until you stop it. See how Coffee of the Month works, or browse the log book of every coffee we have sent.
