One rough-in replaces a separate mixing valve and diverter valve. Integrated screwdriver stops: shut off water at the valve for cartridge service or repairs without shutting off the whole house, which matters most in multi-unit buildings. Pressure balance ready: with a pressure balance cartridge and trim installed, water temperature holds within ±3°F (±1.6°C) when pressure changes elsewhere in the house.
