Iwagumi Terrarium Workshop (Nov 05, 2026)
Iwagumi Terrarium Workshop Thursday, Nov 05, 6:00pm-7:30pm $85/person (15 people maximum) Join us for this new and exciting hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own Iwagumi Terrarium! Iwagumi is a Japanese style of aquascaping built around carefully placed stones and a simple plant composition. Traditionally, the design uses a small number of stones paired with a single, low-growing plant to create a clean and intentional landscape. The placement of each element is considered for proportion, balance, and negative space. In this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of Iwagumi composition and create your own terrarium using dragonstone, aquasoil, and a low-growing tissue-culture plant. You’ll leave with a finished Iwagumi terrarium and the knowledge to care for it at home. Instructor: Michael Meechan from Mizu Mori What is included: Glass terrarium and lid Single plant species Substrate and hardscape Scaping tools (class-use only) Class-led instruction on terrarium design, assembly, and long-term care
