The diamond on the front is cut from the reverse of the same off-white fabric, so the pattern comes from texture alone: a textured frame around a window of the smooth face. The frame starts at the base of the neck slit, widens across the chest and narrows to a long point that runs down through the hem band. A high waistband directly beneath meets it cleanly, and a lower one leaves a gap under the point.
