NELS STL+I NEW GAB M - 420 HONEY
Original iconic trench coat with military origins. The trench has a slim silhouette, reaches the ankles, and features a double-breasted closure with five rows of buttons. Lifting the storm flap reveals an underlying button that allows the lapel to be closed all the way up, with the flap secured over it to ensure the opening is watertight. The collar has a hook on the tab and a chin strap equipped with a buckle and buttons. To prevent damage from the metal prongs of the hand-covered leather buckles, the eyelets on the belt and chin strap are reinforced with metal grommets; these are also found on the cuff straps. The belt features metal D-rings, which were originally used to attach hand grenades, and the buttoned shoulder straps allowed for securing the slings of binoculars, muskets, canteens, and anything else that needed to be kept close during a rapid enemy attack. The trench coat, in fact, has reached us unchanged from the tradition of the First World War, as it was specifically a garment for the trenches. The garment is made of a very tight technical gabardine and is unlined, with internal seams finished with contrasting ribbon tape. Also on the inside, the garment is equipped with a detachable padded lining made of quilted technical fabric. The detachable lining attaches using our historic buttoning method, which does not require buttonholes but instead leaves engineered spaces along the garment's perimeter seam to accommodate the buttons.
