Essential Techniques for Aspiring Chefs (Ages 14-18)
Essential Techniques for Aspiring Chefs Teen chefs will step into the kitchen to learn the real skills professional cooks use every day. Over four sessions, students will build confidence through hands-on practice, learning the foundations that make great cooking possible in any cuisine. Open exclusively to teens ages 14-18. Students are welcome to register for any number of classes in the series (1-4). Understanding heat is one of the biggest steps toward cooking confidently. Taught by Adam Head, MasterChef Alumni from Season 15, students will learn how chefs control temperature and timing to achieve the best texture and flavor. Skills learned: Different cooking methods (sautéing, roasting, steaming) Managing heat levels Timing multiple components Recognizing doneness and texture *Limited spots are available in each class.
