Sojeau Pinot noir was harvested on September 21st, and we processed nearly 7 tons from 2.4 acres across the three blocks, de-stemmed but including 12% as whole cluster in (two) three ton and (one) 1.8 ton open top vats. Fermentations of Sojeau brought such positive energy from the site, helping establish a positive microbial presence in our cellar. After twenty days on skins, the wines were pressed before filling 18 total barrels, this cuvée from six, resting for 14 months before a further six weeks of tank aging and bottling on January 22nd, 2026. Pungent, briny, moving toward blue but highly expressive – Sojeau’s maturity starting to show off, (this the 15th growing season). Aromatics are intense, concentrated, somewhat meaty and coiled but so perfumed. Creamy and sexy exterior with modest weight, layered texture, graceful from front to back. Iron, bloody, but never over the top. A wonderful first vintage to have made in our new home and perhaps the most complete (and potentially ethereal) example we’ve produced. 145 cases and 12 magnums produced; 13% alcohol $65 per bottle
