The Hygge Necklace

Description Hygge (pronounced “hoo-gah”) is a Danish word for a feeling of warmth, comfort, and ease. It’s not something that translates perfectly, it’s something you feel. I was recently in Copenhagen and found my way into a small local bead shop where these ceramic beads are made in-house. The colours immediately stood out. They felt different from what I’m usually drawn to. Brighter, warmer, more alive. While I was there, I started to really understand Hygge better. In a place that spends so much of the year in darkness, there’s a real focus on creating light through colour. This collection is a simple take on that idea. These are easy, colourful pieces designed to add a bit more brightness to your everyday. A shift away from the neutral tones we tend to wear, and into something lighter and more playful. Each one can be worn on its own, or layered together depending on what feels right. This is a small, limited release. I brought back only a limited number of these beads. Hand assembled in Toronto.
