Akemi Akenova Tiger Grip 50 Adhesive 290 mL Cartridge
Akemi Akenova Tiger Grip 50 High-Tack Adhesive — 290 mL Cartridge AKENOVA® Tiger Grip 50 is AKEMI’s stress-compensating, one-component assembly adhesive based on polyhybrid (silane-modified polymer) technology that cures with ambient humidity. It develops very high initial tack — roughly 350 kg/m² — so heavy components such as sinks, window sills, and steps grab and hold immediately, often without clamps or props. The permanently elastic, weather-resistant bond joint absorbs movement and vibration, does not bleed into natural stone, and is free of solvents, silicone, and isocyanate. Supplied in a standard 290 mL cartridge for clean, precise application with an ordinary caulking gun, it bonds natural and engineered stone to mineral, metal, and wooden surfaces indoors and out. Very high initial tack (approx. 350 kg/m²) — holds heavy parts immediately Stress-compensating & elastic — absorbs movement, vibration, and thermal expansion No bleeding into the marginal zone on natural stone (free of plasticisers & solvents) Solvent-, silicone- & isocyanate-free, VOC-free, almost odourless, and paintable Indoor & outdoor — UV-, humidity-, and weather-resistant, vertical or horizontal Specifications Property Detail Brand Akemi (Akenova®) Manufacturer AKEMI GmbH, Nuremberg, Germany Product Type One-component (1K) assembly adhesive, humidity (moisture) curing Chemical Basis Polyhybrid / silane-modified polymer — solvent-, silicone- & isocyanate-free Consistency Paste-like, non-sag (vertical & horizontal) Color White (CC 1100) · Grey (CC 1830) · Black (CC 1030) Initial Adhesion (High Tack) Approx. 350 kg/m² Adhesive / Tensile Strength 290–363 psi (2.0–2.5 N/mm², DIN EN ISO 527-3) VOC / Silicone / Isocyanate Free — almost odourless, paintable after cure Available Size 290 mL cartridge Features & Benefits High initial tack (approx. 350 kg/m²) grabs and holds heavy components immediately, easing single-hand assembly Stress-compensating, permanently elastic bond joint that absorbs movement and vibration High bonding strength with an elastic joint — suited to vertical and horizontal bonding No bleeding in the marginal zone on natural stone, as it is free of plasticisers and solvents Solvent-, silicone- and isocyanate-free; VOC-free; almost odourless; paintable Resistant to UV, humidity and weathering; temperature-resistant from -13°F to +176°F (-25°C to +80°C) Suitable for indoors and outdoors; good workability and smoothability Applications Recommended for fast, stress-compensating bonding: Assembly of sinks, backsplashes, window sills, steps, skirting boards, and mirrors Attaching substructures and rodding to countertops Surface-area bonding of natural stone slabs and tiles Bonding natural & engineered stone — granite, quartz, quartzite, sandstone, terrazzo — to mineral, metal, or wooden surfaces Very good adhesion on silicate surfaces (granite, concrete, glass) and on SPC (Stone Polymer Composite) Limited / no adhesion on: plasticised plastics, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and PTFE — a preliminary test is necessary. For non-silicate or absorbent substrates, and for bondings exposed to moisture, apply the appropriate AKEMI® primer (see the AKEMI primer table). Directions for Use Contact surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of grease and dust. Use AKEMI® Cleaner A on stone, tile, ceramic, glass, unpainted wood and metal; use AKEMI® Cleaner on plastics and painted surfaces. Apply at a working temperature of 41°F to 95°F (5°C to 35°C). On larger areas, apply parallel adhesive beads at the required thickness, spacing them so no continuous airtight layer forms (a closed layer greatly delays curing). Bond parts within approx. 10 minutes; smooth joints with AKEMI® Smoothing Agent. Skin-formation time is approx. 10–20 minutes (depending on humidity and temperature). Cure builds roughly 2–3 mm of depth on the first day; thick joints cure more slowly. For thin joints or vapour-tight substrates (metal, ceramic, glass), lightly moisten one surface just before bonding to speed core curing. Remove uncured adhesive with AKEMI® Cleaner A or I; cured adhesive can be removed only mechanically. Curing is accelerated by moisture. Safety & Handling For professional use only; use application equipment with a high gear ratio. Before full application, confirm compatibility on the actual materials — including any materials within reach of the curing vapours — to ensure no discolouration or damage occurs. No or only limited adhesion on plasticised plastics, PE, PP, and PTFE — carry out a preliminary test. Exposure to temperatures above 176°F (80°C) may discolour the bonded surface. Cured adhesive can be removed only mechanically. Store sealed in a dry, cool place at 41–77°F (5–25°C); shelf life approx. 12 months from production.
