NY: Committee to Elect Sailorman Jack, [1989]. Single sheet, 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 in, printed/rubber stamped both sides. Near fine with mild edge wear. Small handbill promoting the failed 1989 New York mayoral campaign of Sailorman Jack, the better-known moniker of Laurence Koback (1938-2006), a subway performer of 19th century sea chanties and a co-founder of the New York Pipe Club, whose candidacy hinged on a promise to make the subway system free. Recto with printed statement on his write-in campaign; verso with rubber-stamped ordering information/tracklists for two cassettes of sea chanties. An uncommon piece of New York ephemera.
