Description: Niepoort Vintage 2022 continues the house tradition of producing Vintage Ports with exceptional concentration, depth and balance. Aged for approximately two years in large oak casks before bottling, it combines intensity and elegance with outstanding ageing potential. In its youth, it stands out for its vibrant fruit character; over the decades, it develops remarkable aromatic complexity and an increasingly refined texture. Winemaking: Hand-harvested in September. The grapes were foot-trodden in traditional granite lagares with 100% whole clusters. After fermentation, the wine aged in large oak casks in the Douro throughout the winter before being transferred to the cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia in March 2023, where it continued ageing until bottling in June 2024. Food Pairing: Ideal with Serra cheese, Stilton and other blue cheeses. Also excellent as a meditation wine, enjoyed at the end of a meal.
