To use paradichlorobenzene (PDB) crystals safely for storing empty comb frames, measure one bag onto a paper plate and place on top of every 2 deep brood boxes or 4 honey supers in the stack. (A stack of 8 brood boxes requires one bag (4 oz) every 2 deep boxes). Cover the entire stack with a lid, plywood, or a sealed tarp down to the bottom to keep the heavy vapors trapped inside. Check the stack and refill the crystals if they have completely evaporated. Never use naphthalene: Standard household mothballs use naphthalene, which ruins wax and taints honey permanently with toxic residue. No honey for consumption: Do not apply chemicals to frames containing honey meant to be eaten; PDB is meant strictly for empty drawn comb storage. Air out before use: When spring arrives, remove the covers and let the frames air out completely in fresh air for 2 days until all chemical odor is gone before putting them back on a live bee colony. Size: 1 bag (4 oz)
