the ~ harvest ~ collection

Introducing a new micro-collection inspired by the nature and landscape we're surrounded by and the moment we're living in... ~ harvest ~ comprises five shades, dyed on one of our favourite non-superwash yarn bases: currel | sport is a 3-ply sport weight yarn spun from non-superwash highland wool. It is 'rustic' but has gorgeous bounce and squish as a result of its tight twist. I've loved knitting with this yarn for years and truly think it might be my perfect sweater yarn. Garments wash and wear beautifully and it creates fabrics with lovely stitch definition and is wonderful for cables. I dyed five shades inspired by by the changing landscape as the harvest gets underway all around us. From the stubble - or stover - left in the fields, through the light at the start and the end of long long days for the harvest crews, via the ubuquitous baler twine, and the rapid return of the fields to earthy brown as they're ploughed... stover ~ warm creamy beige nightfall ~ dusky mauve grey twine ~ rusty orange daybreak ~ warm apricot pink furrow ~ rich earthy brown Non-superwash yarn can require a little more thought and attention to care but the rewards are plentiful! Fibres that haven't been superwash treated tend to have more memory, bite, and structural interest, and the lack of chemical/processing intervention makes them better for the environment. currel | sport weight: sport fibre: 10% wool - highland needle size: 3.25 - 3.75mm metres: 300m per 100gm skein care: Hand wash in cold water using gentle wool detergent
