Antique Halloween postcard depicting a wide-eyed child seated between two Jack-O-Lanterns on sticks, flanked by black cats, against a moonlit woodland backdrop. The front reads "Best Wishes for Hallowe'en" at lower left with a four-line verse at lower right. Series No. 2006, published by Gottschalk, Dreyfuss & Davis, London, Munich, New York, and produced in Germany. The verso bears a postmark from New Bedford, Massachusetts, dated October 30, 1913. Addressed to Mr. G.P. Bradford in Silver Lake, Massachusetts. A handwritten message reads in part, "Has the earth opened up and swallowed you people?" The stamp has been removed. The card shows staining on the verso, edge wear, and a small corner loss at upper right.
