Velvety, Spiced and Fruit Forward At 13 years of age, the 2013 Vintage Fortified is a wine of real warmth and generosity, built entirely from Portuguese varieties in the style that Stanton and Killeen has made its own. This blend of Tinta Roriz 37%, Tinta Barroca 26%, Touriga Nacional 22% and Tinto Cão 15% is a fruit-driven, richly spiced expression that is already drinking beautifully and has plenty of life still ahead. The flavour profile opens with sweet strawberry and stewed red berry at the core, lifted and generous from the very first pour. Rich notes of liquorice and chocolate weave through the mid palate, adding depth and indulgence, while allspice and cinnamon bring a warm, spiced complexity that keeps the wine feeling layered and alive. The tannins are mouth coating and velvety, providing structure and weight without ever feeling heavy, while the spirit delivers a warm, lengthy finish that lingers with real satisfaction.
