Guided Sculpture: Solid Building from Idea to Bisque<br>Sundays, September 13th – October 18th, 2026<br>10:00AM-1:00PM

This fun new class is designed to take students through the process of sculpting a unique idea of their own design using solid-building techniques. Students are encouraged to arrive with an idea and sketches so they can begin conceptualizing their work in the first class. The instructor will demonstrate using armatures, blocking in basic forms and different techniques for working in high-level detail to complete these works. Over the second half of class, students will learn how to cut and hollow out their work for firing. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to sculpt in clay but don’t know where to start, grab a seat with Sam and come ready to learn! Students are encouraged to bring a groggy clay body and tools for sculpting, though a grogged stoneware and toolkits are available at the studio for purchase. Community tools will also be available for use.
