Amanda Leader - Mistress of Linen
Founded by antique dealer and maker Amanda Leader, Mistress of Linen grew from a lifelong love of heritage textiles and a desire to give beautiful old cloth a new life. Working primarily with antique and vintage French linens, Amanda creates a unique range of homewares, accessories, and clothing that honour the history of the fabric while offering a fresh, modern sensibility. From tablecloths and cushions to aprons, totes and softly structured garments, each piece is dyed, block printed, and sewn in small batches either by Amanda herself or in collaboration with a trusted seamstress. Every design is carefully considered, drawing on decades of experience sourcing textiles for interiors, film, and theatre. The first Mistress of Linen product, a sturdy everyday tote, was born out of frustration with poor-quality alternatives. Made to last, it quietly set the tone for a growing collection of well-designed, beautifully made items that are both functional and full of character. Everything is made in England using antique or vintage fabrics, often in quantities that allow for only one or two of each piece, ensuring each item is as individual as the cloth it’s made from. The result is a range of timeless pieces stitched with integrity and a deep respect for material history. Find out more and follow Mistress of Linen: www.mistressoflinen.co.uk @mistressoflinen
