And what differs from the rest of the Crystal Panel family is scale: 72 inches, a full 30 inches wider than the base 42-inch. On the right wall, that difference reads as "custom-built fireplace" instead of "wall-mounted heater." What Actually Differs 72 inches wide, 3.19 inches deep. Same 1500W element. Same 400 sq ft coverage rating. If you need to heat a bigger room, this doesn't do that — you need central heat or a second unit. The 72-inch buys you visual scale on the wall, not extra thermal output. It is not a whole-house furnace. 1500W is enough to warm a well-insulated 400 sq ft room to a comfortable temperature. A drafty 1,000 sq ft great room will feel warmer near the panel but the far corner will still need your regular heat. It is not a real fire. The flame effect and crystal ember bed look convincing at normal viewing distance, and 6 feet of multicolor flame across a wall is genuinely striking. But it is an LED-lit visual effect. No wood, no smoke, no crackling. It should not be left running unattended. The overheat shutoff and 1-12 hour timer exist because unattended space-heater use is how house fires happen. Use the timer. Never leave it on when you leave the house or go to sleep. It draws close to a full 15A circuit at 1500W. Plug it directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip or extension cord. If the outlet is on a shared circuit with a microwave or window AC, you'll trip the breaker when both are running. At 48 lbs across 72 inches, this is a two-person mount. Non-negotiable. One person cannot hold 6 feet of panel level while trying to drop it onto a wall bracket. Have a helper before you start. Freight-class shipping. A 72-inch box does not fit on a standard FedEx truck the same way a smaller one does. Delivery may take a day or two longer than the smaller Crystal Panels.
