A solid wood Budai carved in the round, seated cross-legged with his robe falling open and his belly forward. The grain runs warm through the torso; the finish is smooth where the hand falls and rougher in the folds of cloth. Carved in Indonesia, where this figure has been a workshop staple for generations. Sits well on a shelf, a windowsill, or a low table.
