VINTAGE 1960 9ct GOLD OMEGA CALIBRE 250 WATCH EXPLORER DIAL & ORIGINAL BOX. This fabulous gentlemen’s Omega is in amazingly original condition & virtually ’as-new’. Manufactured in 1960 by the serial number on the movement 17469161. The model was the new ’slim’ version of Omega‘s solid gold line of watches. These new cases were exceptionally well made and the movements within are usually found in perfect condition. Using the omega calibre 250 hand-wound movement, the example that we have here is in exceptional original condition, which is testament to the wonderful case design which has protected the movement perfectly over the years. The 9kt gold case case measures 34mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 38.5mm tip-to-tip. The case and bezel are in very good original condition with no serious wear, dings or scratches. Just a little light rubbing to the back from gentle use over the years. The original fine silvered dial is absolutely beautiful. A rare ‘explorer’ type 12-3-6-9 dial, with contrasting gold baton markers and hands. Signed simply ‘Omega’ with ‘swiss made’ below 6. The watch still retains the original omega gold filed bracelet, which is in excellent condition and is also complete with it’s 1960’s presentation box. With the price of gold sky-rocketing recently solid gold Omega’s are now very hard to find in good condition and this one is a beauty.
