Making Plantain Hydrosol The distillation process involves harvesting the plant material, typically when it's in full bloom and 70% flowering, for the best quality hydrosol, and then using steam to extract the beneficial compounds from the leaves and stems. The hydrosol is then stored in glass, in a cool dark area.
