Quinta de Ventozelo has been producing port wines since the 1500's but it is the estate's acquisition by GranVinhos that has seen significant transformation and taken all aspects of the estate to the next level. Ventozelo’s exceptional soil and climate are ideal for winemaking. The 200 or so hectares, with over a million vines, extend from the banks of the river (at around 130 metres altitude) to the farm’s high point (at above 500 metres) where the grapes achieve a striking freshness Made from a blend of the 3 noblest grape varieties of the region - Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz Fresh red berries and dark cherry notes mix with a touch of spice. It is full-bodied, very balanced and full of supple and appealing textures
