Military Provenance The black PVD finish was frequently specified for special forces, counter-terror, and covert units. Unlike painted coatings, PVD is applied at a molecular level, offering superior durability and long-term wear resistance. Classic Case Design The case design was originally developed in the 1970s by Swiss case maker MRP S.A. and has been used by numerous military and professional dive watch manufacturers over the past 45+ years. It remains in production today—a rare testament to a truly functional design. Historical Background This model was originally produced from the early 1990s through to 2004, with incremental refinements introduced over time. The 1999–2001 dial layout is widely regarded as the most balanced and legible version, and it still closely mirrors the dial designs used on current MWC production models. For this reissue, we have retained the original logo font, which was phased out around 2003, along with the encircled “T” for historical accuracy. While the watch uses modern, non-radioactive Super-LumiNova, these period-correct details give the reissue a distinctly authentic appearance. Mechanically, the watch remains true to the original specification, using the same Swiss Ronda 705 quartz movement that powered the 2001 models, ensuring both historical continuity and proven reliability.
