Pair of Large French Antique Candlesticks in Patinated Metal, 19th-Century Revival Style 15"
A substantial pair of antique French candlesticks, sourced in France and likely dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The candlesticks have broad faceted bases, tall architectural stems and wide drip pans, with a design influenced by earlier Louis XIII and Louis XIV candlesticks. Made from a hollow cast copper-based metal, probably brass, they have developed a deep patina which gives the pair a particularly attractive aged look. These large antique candlesticks would make striking decorative pieces on a mantelpiece, console table, sideboard or dining table. They can be displayed with candles or left empty to emphasise their sculptural form.
