Bright abstracted landscape of gondolas in Venice. The artist has absolutely captured the Venetian light making this a very attractive and unusual painting. Signed Bertil Berntsson, 1921-2002, dated '54. Berntsson is widely held in Swedish museums and is one of several Swedish artists who studied in Paris under André Lhote. Oil on canvas in a vintage wood frame with gilt trim. Frame: 70 x 80 cm / 27 1/2 x 31 1/2 inches.
