Macadamia (macadamia intergifolia) Better known for the nut it produces it is a member of the proteaceae family that has distinctive medullary ray structures. It can present fine lacy grain to broad rays which makes a highly decorative pattern depending which orientation the timber has been cut. It can be difficult to work by machines as it it prone to tear out if care is not taken but it carves and turns very well.
