Nailed it! Making Hand Forged Nails

Going back centuries, forging nails has been one of the first duties for the apprentice blacksmith seeking to improve their craft. Nail making requires less physical force or prior blacksmithing experience. This three-hour taster course is the perfect starting lesson for absolute beginners with zero experience. Harvey caught the blacksmithing bug at The Steel Yard (Providence, RI) in 2014. His work leans heavily towards organic shapes and designs as well as household products. Currently, he forges out of his own shop (JDH Metalcraft) in East Providence, RI, and teaches at The Steel Yard.
