WWI German 13mm T-Gewehr Anti-Tank Rifle Case – Polte August 1918 – T67
Original First World War German 13.2 × 92mm SR T-Gewehr cartridge case, manufactured for the famous Mauser Tankgewehr M1918, the world's first purpose-designed anti-tank rifle to enter service. The Tankgewehr was introduced during 1918 as a German response to Allied tanks. Its enormous 13mm cartridge was developed for armour penetration and was also associated with the proposed MG18 TuF heavy machine gun. This example has an excellent, clearly readable wartime headstamp: 8 – August 18 – 1918 P – Polte, Magdeburg T67 – T-Gewehr/TuF designation and 67% copper wartime case alloy The brass case retains an attractive aged finish with handling marks and patination appropriate to its age. The neck remains in good condition and the headstamp is particularly crisp. EMPTY CASE ONLY – no projectile, propellant or live components. Sold solely as a historical collectors' item.
