Fine album with engraved views by the English artist Henry Winkles (1801-1860). Very rare in this form. Henry Winkles collaborated with the German landscape artist Gustav Adolph Müller(1801–1860) to produce these highly detailed historical prints. These engravings were first produced in the 1830s as a major collaborative publishing project between German and Swiss publishers, often published alongside texts by the Swiss author Heinrich Zschokke. The prints capture stunning 19th-century vistas of Swiss landscapes, including cities, cathedrals, lakes, and alpine mountains. Neatly rebacked. Light rubbing to binding. Block a little distorted. Some spotting, mostly to margins.
