Virginia Style Two-Piece Waist Belt Plate

Quintessential “Virgina Pattern” excavated CS two-piece buckle. This excavated buckle was located in one of Wade Hamptons Cavalry camps in the mid 1980’s in absolute flawless condition. This plate is without question “the tip of the spear” regarding perfection. Plate exhibits a beautiful original “as excavated” green patina with original “body curve.” The letters CS were rubbed only, to highlight the attention to Confederate States, leaving behind all the original “woods flake” patina. Of all the CS two-pieces I have personally examined, this example ranks in the “highest percentile” for the best state of original beautiful preservation.
