Vintage 1990s Chevignon Cognac Cowhide Leather Jacket

A cognac brown leather jacket by Chevignon, the French label built around the language of American heritage clothing. The interior label reads Bumper Vachette Américaine — a model name that reflects both the material and the intent behind it. Bumper vachette refers to a heavier, structured grade of cowhide, tanned for durability and substance, and it is what sets the better Chevignon jackets apart. This example dates to the early 1990s, cut in a true XXL, and represents the Américaine model at its best. The front closes on a full-length centre zip fitted with a Chevignon-branded slider. A single zip chest pocket sits to the right of the front panel. Two angled slash pockets run across the lower front, each finished with a V-shaped leather welt, a clean and deliberate construction detail that carries through the jacket. The collar is wide and pointed, finished in matching leather to the underside. A leather hanging loop is present at the interior back neck.
