Just, grassroots-led and inclusive energy transition in Colombia
This report explores how the energy transition in Colombia is, in reality, a set of multiple transitions that must respond to diverse territorial and social realities. Beyond technological change, it proposes a comprehensive social and ecological transformation that recognizes energy as a right and as a means for community well-being, closely linked to peace, environmental justice, and sustainability. Through local experiences — from Indigenous communities defending their territories to urban and rural initiatives committed to energy autonomy — the document shows that a just, popular, and inclusive energy transition is only possible if it incorporates the active participation of communities, an intersectional approach, and public policies designed from and for the territories.
