Morocco Overland Expedition The Ultimate Off-Road Adventure Beyond the paved roads lies a different side of Morocco. Remote mountain passes. Endless desert pistes. Wild camps beneath the stars. Dust, dunes and days of off-road driving through some of North Africa’s most unforgiving and rewarding terrain. This is not a tourist holiday. This is real overland expedition travel. Built for those who want more than hotels and crowded tourist routes, our Morocco expeditions focus on raw adventure, remote travel and the freedom of exploring deep into the unknown with a convoy of like-minded overlanders. From the mountains of the north to the vast open deserts of the Sahara and Iriki National Park, every expedition is different. Routes constantly change due to terrain, weather and local conditions, meaning flexibility and adventure are part of the experience. No rigid schedules. No polished tourist experience. No two expeditions ever the same. Just vehicles, remote tracks, wild camps and the road ahead. Expedition Philosophy Our expeditions are built around authentic overland travel. The goal is simple: drive incredible routes, experience remote landscapes and create the kind of adventure that stays with you long after the expedition ends. We chase the feeling of true exploration — navigating rocky mountain pistes, crossing dry lake beds, tackling desert tracks and camping far away from civilisation. Morocco offers some of the best overland driving anywhere in the world, and this expedition is designed to experience it properly. The Route Starting in northern Morocco, we work our way south through mountain passes, remote pistes and desert terrain before reaching our southern point deep within Iriki National Park. From there we begin the journey north again, exploring a constantly evolving network of trails, tracks and remote landscapes along the way. Because conditions in Morocco can change rapidly, we do not publish fixed day-by-day itineraries. Tracks can become washed out, dunes shift, weather changes and access routes evolve. This flexibility allows us to keep the expedition authentic and adapt routes in real time to deliver the best possible adventure. Final route information and expedition briefings are sent out closer to departure. Expedition Highlights Sahara Desert The heart of the expedition. Massive dune systems, endless open terrain and unforgettable desert driving. We spend time deep in the Sahara experiencing sunrise and sunset in one of the greatest overland destinations on earth. Expect sand driving, remote camps and huge open landscapes stretching beyond the horizon. Iriki National Park Remote, rugged and wild. Dry lake beds, rocky tracks and isolated desert terrain make this one of the best overland driving areas in Morocco. This is expedition territory far away from the tourist routes. Atlas Mountains Epic mountain passes, steep climbs and winding rocky tracks through some of the most dramatic landscapes in North Africa. The Atlas Mountains provide some of the most rewarding driving of the expedition. Todra Gorge Towering canyon walls, twisting roads and dramatic terrain before reconnecting with remote off-road sections deeper into the mountains and desert. Merzouga & Erg Chebbi Home to some of Morocco’s most iconic dunes and desert tracks. Expect technical sand driving, desert pistes and incredible camp locations beneath some of the darkest skies on earth. Wild Camping Some of the best moments of the expedition happen far away from campsites, towns and civilisation. Remote wild camps are selected throughout the route, allowing us to experience Morocco at its rawest — sleeping under huge desert skies, waking up to complete silence and watching sunrise over untouched landscapes. Campfires, convoy stories and life outdoors are all part of the experience. These are the moments people remember long after the expedition ends. Life on Expedition Days start early with sunrise over camp and fresh coffee before vehicles roll out onto the next section of piste. Some days involve long technical driving through rocky mountain terrain. Others are spent crossing vast open deserts with nothing visible for miles in any direction. Lunch is often taken trailside in remote locations before continuing deeper into the wilderness. Evenings are spent around campfires sharing stories, planning routes, carrying out vehicle checks and enjoying life off-grid beneath the stars. Terrain You Can Expect Deep desert sand Rocky mountain pistes Fast gravel tracks Dry lake beds Technical climbs Winding canyon routes Washed out trails Remote off-road sections Endless open desert Terrain and conditions can change quickly depending on weather and route conditions, adding to the authentic expedition experience. The Reality of Expedition Travel Morocco is unpredictable — and that is exactly why we love it. Sandstorms, route changes, difficult terrain, mechanical issues and changing weather conditions are all part of real overland travel. Our expeditions are designed to embrace that unpredictability while keeping safety and convoy support the priority. No two expeditions are ever the same. Expedition Convoy This is not just another guided tour. The convoy becomes a team. Everyone helps each other through difficult terrain, recoveries, navigation and camp life. That shared experience is what makes overland expeditions different from ordinary travel. Life on expedition is built around teamwork and shared responsibility. Throughout the journey, the group works together to keep the expedition moving smoothly — from vehicle recoveries and route planning to camp setup and evening meals. At various points during the expedition, we restock supplies locally and organise group cook-ups around camp. Participants take turns helping prepare meals, manage camp responsibilities and assist with the day-to-day running of convoy life. Each day, different members of the convoy may take on small expedition roles, helping create the atmosphere of a true overland crossing rather than simply following a tour. It is these shared experiences — the campfire evenings, remote camps, teamwork and life on the road — that become some of the most memorable parts of the adventure. Daily Briefings Each day begins with an expedition briefing covering the planned route, terrain conditions, fuel stops, recovery considerations and any important information for the day ahead. These briefings help keep the convoy organised, prepared and ready for whatever the route may bring — whether that is deep sand, remote mountain pistes or long days crossing open desert terrain. Conditions in Morocco can change quickly, so flexibility and teamwork are key parts of the expedition experience. Recovery Training & Support Recovery situations are all part of real overland travel, especially when travelling through remote desert and mountain terrain. Throughout the expedition, participants will gain hands-on experience in safe vehicle recovery techniques including sand recoveries, convoy procedures, recovery board usage and safe towing practices. Our guides carry extensive recovery equipment and provide support throughout the expedition, helping build confidence and experience in real-world off-road conditions. Whether you are experienced or relatively new to overlanding, the expedition is designed to be both an adventure and a learning experience.
