Details Painted pine slant-front desk in a muted blue ground with parcel-gilt molded panels and edges. The fall front opens to reveal a fitted interior with stepped drawers flanking a central cupboard, above a writing surface retaining its original painted decoration. The case fitted with additional drawers below, all retaining original or early wooden pulls. Raised on a shaped base. The surface shows extensive patina, wear, and losses consistent with age and use, revealing the pine substrate at edges and high points. A rare survival of original Scandinavian painted decoration, displaying the understated elegance and functional craftsmanship characteristic of Swedish provincial furniture of the period.
