2026 Blackjack Rosa Rosé

Tasting Note: Made from estate-grown Shiraz grapes, it is bright pink, crimson in colour. Vibrant, with a strawberry/cranberry nose and spice, it is full yet crisp on the palate and has plenty of fruit as well. It has good palate weight, mouthfeel, and a lingering finish. It is perfect with crispy skin salmon. Many would know the story of Blackjack, but it bears repeating here because it is where the name “Rosa” comes from. Blackjack was an American sailor who jumped ship at Melbourne in the 1860s to come to the Castlemaine Gold Fields, where he eventually settled. His actual name from court records was Santa Rosa Ramoy, hence the name.
