Fanatic Fly Air XL
The Fanatic Fly Air XL is a proper giant inflatable paddleboard built for shared sessions rather than solo paddling. If you want one board that can get a big family, a paddle club, a school group or a watersports centre on the water together, this is exactly what it is designed for. At 17ft long, 60 inches wide and with a huge 1350 litres of volume, it gives you the stable, confidence-inspiring platform you need when there are multiple paddlers moving around onboard. This is not just a scaled-up all-round SUP. The Fly Air XL sits in the Fanatic range as the specialist group board: ideal for team building, coaching, school use, holiday parks, centres and fun family paddling where the experience matters just as much as outright performance. If you want a normal one-person inflatable SUP, you will be better looking at our all-round paddleboards. If you want a one-person SUP and windsurf crossover, the Fanatic Viper Air SLT is the more natural fit. Why choose the Fanatic Fly Air XL? Real group fun – built for shared paddling sessions with roughly 6 to 8 paddlers onboard depending on size and use. Very stable underfoot – the extra width and huge volume make it reassuring for mixed-ability groups. Great for clubs, schools and centres – tough, simple and easy to understand for group sessions. Handles UK family use well – ideal for calm coastal paddles, harbours, lakes, estuaries and sheltered rivers. Easy to transport for its size – inflatable construction means it packs down far more practically than a rigid board of this scale. More than just a novelty – it is stable enough to be genuinely usable, not just funny for five minutes. Helpful reading & buying advice Shop Fanatic at The SUP Company SUP Paddle Buying Guide SUP Test Centre at Woodmill, Southampton Paddleboarding accessories Who should buy the Fly Air XL? Choose the Fanatic Fly Air XL if your priority is getting multiple people on one board safely and with maximum fun. It makes a lot of sense for activity centres, clubs, schools, families, holiday businesses and event operators. If your goal is solo paddling, fitness paddles or personal touring, a regular all-round or touring board will be the better and more cost-effective choice. How many people can the Fanatic Fly Air XL take? Realistically, it is built for group paddling with around 6 to 8 people onboard depending on the size of the riders, the conditions and what sort of session you are running. For centres and schools, it gives you loads of flexibility. Is the Fly Air XL only for commercial use? No. It is brilliant for clubs, schools and hire centres, but it is also a fantastic choice for big families, group holidays and anyone who wants a shared paddling experience rather than a standard one-person board. Does it come with paddles? We would normally expect paddles to be added separately. That is usually the best setup because some customers need four paddles, others six, and centres often want a different spec depending on who will be using the board. Can you use the Fanatic Fly Air XL for windsurfing? It has two mastfoot inserts, so there is crossover potential there. For regular one-person SUP and windsurf use, though, a dedicated crossover board like the Fanatic Viper Air SLT is the more sensible choice. Is it difficult to transport and inflate? For a board of this size, Fanatic has made it as practical as possible by keeping it inflatable and supplying it with a dedicated transport bag and two pumps. It is still a large piece of kit, but far easier to store and move than a rigid group board.
