Gavialimimus Mosasaur Jaw

This impressive Gavialimimus mosasaur jaw pair from Morocco features two elongated jaw fragments measuring approximately 19 inches in length. These striking fossil jaws display the slender profile and conical tooth structure associated with gavial like mosasaurs that patrolled the ancient seas during the Late Cretaceous Period approximately 66 million years ago. Gavialimimus was an extinct genus of plioplatecarpine mosasaur, a group of fast, agile marine reptiles closely related to modern monitor lizards. Unlike the deeper, more robust jaws seen in some mosasaurs, Gavialimimus possessed long narrow jaws adapted for catching fish and other swift prey in the prehistoric oceans.
