Little Brown Dog Balblair 12 Year Old 70cl
Product Details: The first of LBD's Calvados cask finishes, although technically it’s an ex white port then calvados cask finish. Sometimes disasters happen in whisky. The two 250l casks of Balblair that fitted into a small calvados cask are an example of one of these disasters. They should not have fitted, but they did, with room to spare. The angels share was savage. Luckily this is a tasty disaster, even if it’s a little more expensive than they would have hoped for as a result. You know LBD are always very honest with you guys, so you’re getting the full story/list of excuses here. The liquid, well they’re really happy with that. A little over 18 months in the calvados cask has wonderfully elevated the spirit. It’s got that extra hit of bright green apples and a champagne like finish. . Many of you have enjoyed pairing some of their previous whiskies with the spirits bottled from the finishing cask so you’re looking for the old calvados with the typhoon label to pair with this one.
